3 Ways to Buy OF DARKNESS

Still haven’t seen the short horror film “Of Darkness”? Do you really want to see it, but because of these tough times you don’t have the cash? Have seen it, and liked it so much you want to spread the word?

Well, not to worry, below are three ways you can check out the film that everyone is talking about. Some that offer cheaper prices and others that offer more convenience.

1. Buy the DVD directly from Eventide Productions – This is our preferred method, of course. $10.00 and it goes right into the pockets of us filmmakers.

2. Download or Stream it from Caachi - That’s right! You can now stream or download the film from Caachi.com. Next best thing – $4.50 and 75% goes into the filmmaker’s pockets. You can also add a nifty little Vidget to put on your Facebook or MySpace page.

3. Buy the DVD from Amazon.com – We know most folks prefer to order things from Amazon.com these days, and now “Of Darkness” is available for purchase, so next time your buying something, throw it into your shopping cart and you probably won’t even have to pay shipping. This option costs $12.99 – Honestly, we may only see half of this cash, but if it means more people get to see it, then it’s still a solid option.

In addition to these options, we have a few more distribution options cooking…in the upcoming weeks, the film will be available to rent through Amazon’s Video OnDemand and we’re also working on making the film available to download directly through iTunes.

Of Course, If you’ve already seen the film, you can always pick up a T-Shirt or Poster.

Here are some non-financial support options, you can do one/some/all of the following (listed in effort-inducing hierarchical fashion):

The “1-minute approach” – You can forward this on to your friends, family, colleagues, roommates, classmates, frenemies, enemies…whoever you think might be interested. They, in turn & if interested, can do the same. This will spread awareness of the project, and possibly develop an entirely new audience who would have otherwise been cheated out of a chance to see & enjoy the film.

The “5-minute approach” – You can head over to YouTube and check out the brand new “Of Darkness” trailer. Watch it, rate it, share it…help to elevate the project’s YouTube popularity, thus gaining a wider audience for the film on a daily basis.

The “10-minute approach” - For those of you with a bit more social web-presence, you can can use your Myspace page to become a friend of the ‘Darkness’ (& if you’re already a friend, then please grab the new “Of Darkness” banner and post it on your profile). If you’re a Facebook savvy sort, become a fan ‘Of Darkness’ and share with everyone. Are you a social bookmarker? Use the “ShareThis” feature, located at the bottom of of each page, to add the Eventide Online Store to your Digg, Del.i.cious, twitter, Google, Reddit, etc pages.

The “20-minute approach” – This is for all of you bloggers out there. Spend some time on our site and blog about us (Or Post a link) on your blog.

“Of Darkness” DVD Release Screening (Rescheduled)

After a 4 week Rain Delay (Thanks Bud Selig) “Of Darkness” will screen at the short film screening series “Night Watch”, which takes place at Rembrandt’s Restaurant & Bar on Wednesday, November 26th. The event begins around 8:00pm in the Skyline Room, on the second floor of Rembrandt’s.

Eventide members will be on hand, selling copies of the DVD which was released on October 31st.

Come early and hang out with the Eventide gang, take advantage of the discounted drink & menu specials, and walk away with a copy of the DVD.

Can’t make it out? No worries, you can head over to Eventide’s Online Store and order a copy of the film today.

Eventide Productions’ Multi Award-Winning, critically acclaimed horror short, “Of Darkness” has been acquired by the Comcast Horror Network, FearNet. The deal will cover both On Demand as well as Broadband streaming on FearNet.com. Premiere details haven’t been finalized, but we’re all hoping it will be at the end of October closer to Halloween. More details to come…

OF DARKNESS Filmmaker Commentary session

Eventide’s producer Paul Irwin, director Gary E. Irwin and writer Matt Casale gathered together last week to lay down the filmmaker commentary for the upcoming “Of Darkness” DVD release set for the beginning of October.

This was the first commentary session for the Eventide gang and besides being a blast, it was also a great trip down memory lane. Be sure to look out for a few surprise guest stars when the DVD hits stores.

OF DARKNESS DVD Update

It has been too long since we’ve updated everyone on the status of our latest short film, “Of Darkness”. Sorry, about that, but the months seem to be slipping away these days. There are a lot of great things happening with the film, post-festival run, including a few compilation DVDs, our own DIY DVD/online distribution plan, and a few other surprises that I can’t tell you about yet. I’ve been getting a ton of MySpace messages about when the film will be available to buy, so I’m trying to make that a top priority. The short answer, is sometime in October. We’ve been working on a few more B.T.S. webisodes, and plan to include those on the Special Edition DVD. Besides the featurette, there will also be commentary from Paul, Matt and I, Storyboard comparisons, Still photo galleries and a few trailers. To help promote the release of the DVD, we’re planning a new merchandise campaign, (including a brand new Of Darkness Tee designed by llustrator Steve Cleff) A new MySpace/Facebook contest and another round of reviewer submissions. Stay tuned for more updates throughout September.

OF DARKNESS on Horror Complilation DVD

Rudderpost and Spooky Movie Film Fest are in the final stretch on the Festival of Horror DVDs (Volume One and Two) in which “Of Darkness” will be one of the shorts. Here’s the run down of all the films on Volume Two:

Seekers, Jitters, Eight Thirty Two, Zombie Island and Of
Darkness, with special features Pumpkin Zombies and Electrical
Skeletal as “bonus” extras.

Both DVDs are hosted by Count Gore, and will include more extras. More details on the street date to follow.
