The film was shot in 5 days. 2 Overnights and 3 days over 3 weekends.

The production team was greeted with a freak snow storm on the morning of Day 5…ironically enough the only exterior shooting day scheduled. Compounding this conundrum was the fact that the logistics of the day called for the cooperation of 3 CHPD officers, 2 EMT/Paramedics, 1 Ambulance, & 3 Patrol Cars…all of whom had more than a little trouble making their call time that morning.

The Irwin Brothers spent the wee hours of the night, roughly 10pm – 2am, wiring the driveway lights for the EXT House reveal of the ‘darkness’ approaching Tank, Mac & Charlie on the front porch. Because of the nature of the shot, each one of the nearly 3 dozen lights had to be wired to its own independent power source, in order to cut the power one light @ a time.

The effect of the ‘darkness’ taking over the inside of the cellar light was done with a series of PVC runs and a garden sprayer, which were used to pump black paint into a bare light bulb filled with water. The bulb was then hung in front of an existing light bulb, creating the effect that a live bulb was being filled with black smoke.
